John Hugh Paterson was born in Glasgow on 11 May 1900 . His father John Paterson was a sheet metal worker. John attended the University of Glasgow and the Royal Technical College from 1920-1925 , taking classes in Mathematics, Natural Philosophy, Chemistry, Drawing, Surveying, Chemical Lab and Physical Lab in his first year, Maths II, Engineering III, Electrical Engineering I and Mechanics I in his third, and Junior and Senior Drawing, Engineering III and Engineering IV in his fifth and final ye...

These are Economic History lecture notes, possibly a lecturer's own notes. There are 6 notebooks within a slipcase. On the slipcase is written in pencil "Dr James Cunnison? Alec Macfie?" The identification of the author of these notes is not certain. There is one letter within volume 6 addressed to Dr Cunnison, but without a comparison of handwriting it has not possible to assign these notes to Dr Cunnison. References within the notes would indicate that they were written after 1924. ...
